Photographs

More than any other media, we probably look back on our lives most with photographs.  Fads of various sizes and film formats (and corresponding cameras) came and went--Kodachrome, Polaroids, Instamatic, DiscFilm--but despite the demise of the entire photo-film industry, photos account for the majority of how the 20th century was recorded.

We scan all shapes, sizes and conditions of photos so they can be easily enjoyed in today's digital age.  No more digging through boxes looking for 'that' photo; no more "I'll get around to doing something with those pictures eventually;"  every photo can now be at your digital fingertips for all generations of your family to enjoy.

ORGANIZING

If you already have your photos sorted, that's great.  If you don't, we can help you organize by both events and dates.

RESTORATION

If your photos have suffered serious damage, we also offer digital restoration.  We examine photos and other media in any condition. Whether your media is extremely old, dirty, moldy, burned, water-damaged, or covered in bat guano (yes, we've seen that!), we will do a digital restoration of whatever parts we can. 

FORMATTING

When most people think of digital pictures, they usually think of JPEGs.  JPEGs are great for small photos, but when it comes to the intricate details, JPEGS tend to be what we call "lossy."  (Yes; that is an actual word.) Those small, intricate details of a picture start to get lost when a photo is saved as a JPEG. For a phone, a tablet or a computer, it's much less noticeable, but if you want photos enlarged later, it becomes more obvious. 

 We work with all your images in TIFF or RAW format.  TIFFs and RAWs are known as "lossless" formats; they're much larger files and take longer to process, but they are also much higher quality.  We will give you your finished images in TIFF, JPG, or PNG format, or a combination of formats, at no additional cost to you except for storage devices.
